New approach to power semiconductor devices modeling, Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2004, nr 1

    Get PDF
The main problems occurring during high power device modeling are discussed in this paper. Unipolar and bipolar device properties are compared and the problems concerning high time-constant values related to the diffusion phenomena in the large base are explained. Traditional and novel concepts of power device simulation are presented. In order to make accurate and modern semiconductor device models widely accessible, a website has been designed and made available to Internet users, allowing them to perform simulations of electronic circuits containing high power semiconductor devices. In this software, a new distributed model of power diode has been included. Together with the existing VDMOS macromodel library, the presented approach can facilitate the design process of power circuits. In the future, distributed models of IGBT, BJT and thyristor will be added

Introduction. Psychoactive substances as opioids used by women during pregnancy can have a negativeimpact on the health of a newborn child.Case report. Based on a case report of a newborn delivered by an opioid-dependent mother, this articledescribes the therapeutic decision-making that occurred in caring for this patient. This included outliningthe form of substitution therapy selected and the use of Finnegan’s scoring system to assess the degreeof abstinence syndrome in the newborn.Conclusion. There is a need to monitor drug-dependent women and their children from the early stagesof pregnancy through to birth to ensure positive health outcomes for both the mother and the newborn

Paper present the recent research in DMCS. The medical and biometric research projects are presented. One of the key element is an image acquisition and processing. The paper presents research of diagnostic application of voice analysis for stroke patients with speech dysfunction, as well as the method for diagnosing and monitoring the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation of patients with dysfunction of the cervical spine. Then the method for sudden cardiac death risk stratification is elaborated

Polish 2010 growth references for school-aged children and adolescents

Growth references are useful in monitoring a child's growth, which is an essential part of child care. The aim of this paper was to provide updated growth references for Polish school-aged children and adolescents and show the prevalence of overweight and obesity among them. Growth references for height, weight, and body mass index (BMI) were constructed with the lambda, mu, sigma (LMS) method using data from a recent, large, population-representative sample of school-aged children and adolescents in Poland (n = 17,573). The prevalence of overweight and obesity according to the International Obesity Taskforce definition was determined with the use of LMSGrowth software. Updated growth references for Polish school-aged children and adolescents were compared with Polish growth references from the 1980s, the Warsaw 1996–1999 reference, German, and 2000 CDC references. A positive secular trend in height was observed in children and adolescents from 7 to 15 years of age. A significant shift of the upper tail of the BMI distribution occurred, especially in Polish boys at younger ages. The prevalence of overweight or obesity was 18.7% and 14.1% in school-aged boys and girls, respectively. The presented height, weight, and BMI references are based on a current, nationally representative sample of Polish children and adolescents without known disorders affecting growth. Changes in the body size of children and adolescents over the last three decades suggest an influence of the changing economical situation on anthropometric indices

RECENT RESEARCH IN VLSI, MEMS AND POWER DEVICES WITH PRACTICAL APPLICATION TO THE ITER AND DREAM PROJECTS

Several MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems) devices have been analysed and simulated. The new proposed model of SiC MPS (Merged PIN-Schottky) diodes is in full agreement with the real MPS devices. The real size DLL (Dynamic Lattice Liquid) simulator as well as the research on modelling and simulation of modern VLSI devices with practical applications have been presented. In the basis of experience in the field of ATCA (Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture) based systems a proof-of-concept DAQ (data acquisition) system for ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) have been proposed

Opis dotyczy wersji programu 2.6k

Comparison of Properties for Selected Experimental Set-Ups Dedicated to Measuring Thermal Parameters of Power LEDs

    No full text
This article compares properties of two measurement set-ups dedicated to determining thermal parameters of power LEDs. The standard T3Ster set-up and the custom set-up developed in Gdynia Maritime University are considered. Both set-ups are described and the used measurement procedure is presented. The manner of measurement of optical power of the tested LEDs is also described. The method of measuring transfer transient thermal impedances between thermally coupled power LEDs using both set-ups is proposed. The measurement results of the mentioned parameters obtained with these set-ups for selected power LEDs are compared and discussed. Certain properties of software operating with both the considered measuring set-ups are also analyzed
